Ontario has appointed Charles Beer to conduct a mandatory independent review of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005.
It is important that Ontarians have an opportunity to be a part of the process. As part of the review, we invite your written comments in the following areas:
- The standards development committee process
- The role of the Municipal Accessibility Advisory Committees
- The functions of the Accessibility Directorate of Ontario, including public education
- Recommendations for a repeal strategy for the Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2001.
Guidelines for Submissions
A written submission may take many forms: email, fax letter, electronic document or videotape. We welcome submissions in all formats.
If possible, your written submission should:
- be provided electronically through an email attachment in Microsoft Word
- be sent by mail or by fax, if an electronic version is not possible
- indicate whether you are writing as an individual or on behalf of an organization or group of individuals
- include your name, email address, mailing address, telephone number and, if applicable, the name of the organization or group you are representing
- indicate whether you have been involved in the development of accessibility standards
- indicate whether your comments or suggestions can be referenced in the report being prepared by Charles Beer
- include an executive summary if your submission is longer than 10 pages
- be written in either English or French
